Wedding Photography FAQs

How do we book you?

You can get booked in by getting in touch via email, social media or phone to firstly see if your date is available in the diary. If it is, I will send you some information via email with some further details. If you are happy and have decided on your preferred package, you are ready to get booked in! I require a 25% deposit paid via online bank transfer. This holds your place in the diary and is non refundable. I ask that you pay the remaining balance no later than 6 weeks prior to the wedding date. It’s as easy as that!

What equipment do you use?

I am a Nikon man and have built a wonderful selection of kit over the years. Camera wise I currently use a Nikon D850 and Nikon D750 with a selection of the very best high optic Nikon lenses. If needed I use my Nikon flash units and lighting kit but try to make the most of natural light where possible.

Where will you travel?

Just about anywhere! I photograph most of my weddings in Cornwall and London but work all over the country and even overseas. Depending on where you are getting married this may incur some travel expenses but if getting married in Cornwall, Devon or the London vicinity there are no extra costs. If you are getting married overseas just let me know and we can discuss the options.

How many hours do you work?

As much as needed (within reason)! I can start as early as required for those special getting ready photos. I also love to stay for some of the fun evening celebrations after the first dance. We can discuss what you want in further detail.

How many images do we get?

I don’t like to put an exact number on the amount of photos you will get, as every wedding is different. On average I tend to provide between 600 and 800 images.  It could be slightly less it could be slightly more.

Can I print the photos, make my own wedding book and upload them online?

Of course! I officially own the rights to the images but all this means is that you can’t use them commercially. I put all of your high resolution photos on a lovely wooden USB ready for you to upload, print and distribute where you wish. I also provide a private online gallery where you or family members can view and download images.

What is your style of photography?

I am a fine art photographer and I specialise in recording events and interactions in an unposed, unobtrusive and organic manner. I love capturing natural scenes, tender moments and little details but am good at directing when needed to! I always discuss before the wedding what types of photographs you require, I want you to be happy with your images and feel relaxed throughout the day. I will ask before the wedding for a list of formal group photos so everything is covered. You can also ask for any specific photos you want on the day.

What if you are ill?

Touch wood it’s not happened yet! It’s important to know that I have a number of great photographers to call upon in a time of need. Like I said, this has never happened but I have options in the very unlikely event it does.

What happens after the wedding?

I take pride in the editing process and make sure that each photo is individually edited to bring out the best of the day. Like some wedding photographers, I don’t do batch processing. You will have a selection of colour, black & white and vintage style images depending on what works for each photograph. You can expect to receive your images in the post within 4 – 6 weeks after the wedding.

If you have chosen to have a wedding album/book I will ask you to make a selection of your favourite 100 photos. I can then put it all together for print within 2 weeks after I receive the selection.

Every wedding is unique so if you have any questions at all, just get in touch.
